We grow our berries using both heated glasshouses and field production in polytunnels to ensure year-round availability. In our heated glasshouses, we maintain optimal temperatures and humidity levels, protecting the plants from adverse weather and pests, which allows for a consistent and controlled environment conducive to growth.
Outdoors, we take advantage of natural sunlight and soil, employing sustainable practices such as integrated pest management to maintain healthy plants. This combination of techniques allows us to produce high-quality berries throughout the year while minimising environmental impact.
New apple trees are planted in the Autumn with all our established orchards being pruned during the Autumn and Winter months to balance growth and fruit production.
All our newly planted orchards are grown in a post and wire system where they can grow up to 3 metres tall. They are irrigated with a drip irrigation system that enables us to use fertigation to ensure the correct nutrients are delivered. This gives us healthy and strong trees producing delicious apples that are harvested in September and October.
